Octoberfest is preparing for its 35th season in downtown Appleton. It officially begins on Saturday, September 24, 2016. License to Cruise, the classic car show, will also return to kick off the weekend festival on Friday, September 23.
The Saturday event schedule will feature a full day of music representing a wide variety of genres including rock, country, oldies, polka and blues.
Every year Octoberfest relies on the generosity of more than 600 event volunteers who work as block captains, bartenders, sell wristbands and staff 100 nonprofit food booths. Volunteer signups for Saturday, September 24 are now open and the opportunities include block captains and bartenders.
