Hundreds in Green Bay for Native American Conference
GREEN BAY, WI --A gathering of hundreds of Native American students in Green Bay. This week is the Annual American Indian Higher Education Consortium Student Conference at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center.
It is made up of 37 tribal colleges across the country.
Leaders say it's an important bonding experience.
"This gets all of the tribal college students through out the country together, every year, every spring to do camaraderie to visit, to talk to each other, to learn about each other's history, language, culture," said President of Leech Lake Tribal College, Donald Day.
More than 700 people are pre-registered for the event, which gets underway Monday and Tuesday at the Radisson Hotel Conference Center.
