Salvation Army Celebrates St. Patrick's Day
The Brown County Salvation Army is in the St. Patrick's Day spirit. Today, they served a special meal of corned beef and cabbage to about 200 people.
Organizers say it's a way to celebrate the holiday while helping people in the community.
It reminds them that people care, that people are willing to do something extra for them. A meal such as this isn't just food propped on a plate, just ordinary food, but something that extra time and attention has been given to them," says Major Donald Kincaid of the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army serves hot lunches to more than 150 people every weekday.
