Johnson Announces Plans for Re-Election
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says he plans to seek re-election in 2016.
Some Republicans have speculated the senator who calls himself a `citizen legislator' might only serve one term.
But, Johnson said on WTMJ radio that he feels his vote will be needed on bipartisan solutions to the nation's fiscal problems. The Republican senator says there aren't enough people in Washington willing to "take those tough votes."
The Hill capital newspaper reports Johnson told a group of Republican strategists in Washington, D.C., that he's started fund raising for a second run.
