Oneida Seven Generations Files Appeal
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Oneida Seven Generations Corporation has filed an appeal in its case with the city of Green Bay according to a news release issued this morning.
The group is in a legal dispute over Green Bay's decision to pull a conditional use permit to build a waste to energy plant on the 1200 block of Hurlbut Street. The city first approved of the plan before making the decision to resend the permit.
Oneida Seven Generations filed suit shortly after last year's move but lost it;s challenge in January when Brown County ruled the city had the right to pull the permit over misstatements about smokestacks and emissions.
Oneida Seven Generations says it's operation would be safe and meet state and federal mandates for environmental safety.
