WGBA --   Governor Scott Walker will not be charged in the John Doe investigation involving his former aides. Four people, as well as a campaign donor were charged and convicted of various crimes.

But no one else will be charged, including Walker, who was Milwaukee County Executive at the time. Both Governor Walker and state Democrats are seaking out on the Milwaukee County District Attorney's decision.

Governor Walker, breathing a sigh of relief after three years his name has been cleared. But some Democrats are calling this a case of corruption.

"I'm pleased the process is completed. And I'm glad we can move forward. The people of the state have said with other issues, we're ready to move forward, this is one more thing that allows us to move forward" said Governor Scott Walker.

It all started in May of 2010, months before Scott Walker was elected governor. Then, he was the Milwaukee County Executive.

Walker's administration initiated the investigation. He asked the district attorney to look into money missing from a veterans group called Operation Freedom.

That led to 5 convinctions, including former aide Tim russell, Darlene Wink, and Kelly Rindflesch. State Democratic spokesperson Graeme Zielinski, firing back on Twitter and calling for Walker to step down.

He tweeted: "Wisconsin has never had a more corrupt Governor than Scott Walker. Never"

And in another tweet, he even went so far as to link Walker to a serial killer.

"Governor Walker had better lawyers than jeffrey Dahmer in beating the rap. Clear that he committed crimes."

The judge overseeing the investigation says he sees no reason to lift the secrecy order in the case We may never know the exact details of the district attorney's investigation.

The Milwaukee County D-A has no comment on his decision to end the investigation.
