Town of Menasha Gets Tough on Drugs
TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis. -- Police in the Town of Menasha have a message to drug dealers. "Stay out of the town!" It's the latest campaign to eliminate a growing problem in the small Winnebago County community.
"Heroin is a powerful drug and was once thought of as a big city drug," Community Liaison Officer Jason Weber writes in an upcoming news letter. "Quite frankly, we did not encounter it here in the Fox Valley."
But, that's changed and Weber says Heroin use is on the rise. The Town of Menasha force has joined other Winnebago County law enforcement agencies to get the word out that drug dealers will be prosecuted when caught.
Heather Burke is working on this story. She shows us the actions being taken to stop Heroin and other drugs from getting into the county, tonight on NBC26 Live at 6:00.
