Walker Promises $6.4 Billion for Transportation
GREEN BAY-- Gov. Scott Walker's transportation budget calls for about $6.5 billion for the Department of Transportation. It includes $284 million in new spending.
The governor says he will not ask for tax increases or raise fees on drivers to pay for the new spending. The state is exploring bonding to help pay for major construction projects.
The state's shipping ports will also get around $10 million to improve infasctruture and grow the shipping economy.
