Crossing Guard, 10 Year Old Injured in Morning Accident
APPLETON, Wis. -- Police say a student and crossing guard were injured after an accident near a school in Appleton.
According to a news release, the crash happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of E. Taft Avenue and S. Clover Lane. The guard was helping a 10 year old student cross the street when the two were hit. The crossing guard sustained a leg injury. The child reportedly suffered an injury to her arm. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Appleton police are looking into what caused the incident and whether charges will be filed against the driver.
