Appleton Housing Authority Closing Waiting List
APPLETON, Wis. -- The Appleton Housing Authority has stopped adding names to a waiting list of those looking for housing assistance. The executive director of the agency says that list has more than 1,400 families looking for help. That means those on the bottom of the list could wait five years before getting assistance from the city.
The potential for across the board budget cuts and an increase in need are the reasons behind the move to end the waiting list.
