Packers look to corral Calvin Johnson
GREEN BAY - The Packers see Calvin Johnson twice a season, more than enough to know he is one of the top wide receivers in the game.
So it comes as no surprise to the Packers they will need a full team effort on Sunday to slow the All-Pro.
"Good defenses, all 11 players tied together playing to their leverage and winning the one on one battles. So it's up to ourselves to stay within the defense, stay within the call," said head coach Mike McCarthy.
Primarily, Tramon Williams will be charged with the task of blanketing Johnson.
"He's a big guy," Williams said. "A little guy like me going up against him, you find yourself trying to get too aggressive and the guy is just too strong. He just kind-off throws you here and there and you don't want that. So you can't play him that way."
But If Johnson is not staring across at Williams every play, second year corner Devon House is not concerned.
"It's going to bring the best out of me," said House. "Every play I'm going to lineup, I'm going to do my ritual. Go over and lineup, talk to myself a little bit and get my mind right every play."
Taking lessons from Williams, who has a history taking on the man they call MegaTron.
"Everyone around the league knows Calvin is one of the best in the game," he said. "If that doesn't get you up to play against a guy like that, I don't know what will."
