No Veto to Reverse GB Council's Energy Plant Vote
GREEN BAY, Wis.--Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt announced Monday he will not veto the city Council's vote to resend A Conditional Use Permit granted that would allow Oneida Seven Generations Corp. plans to build a renewable energy plant in the city.
"I do feel this project has merit and with more time and more education could be brought to a majority vote in the city council," Schmitt said in a news release.
The Mayor says it's important to have a consensus and not act with a veto action on issues of economic development.
The Oneida Seven Generations Corp. reacted to the news saying it was "extremely disappointed with Mayor Schmitt's decision" and is considering its options.
