Wisconsin Anchor Responds to "Bully" on Air
La Crosse-- Jennifer Livingston says reporters getting critical emails about their appearance is nothing new but when one viewer said her "size" makes her a bad role model for young girls, the mother of 3 says she couldn't keep quiet.
The email Livingston read last Friday included this passage, "Surely you don't consider yourself a suitable example for this community's young people, girls in particular."
Livingston says the email goes beyond a physical critique.
"I can be called fat and I can be called obese. I have a thick skin. I can take that. If you're going to call me out as a bad role model to the community that I have worked for fifteen years and the girls that I am trying to raise to be kind young ladies, then, you're going to be called out for being a bully."
Livingston responded to the email during a segment during the morning show she's been anchoring for eleven years, "Learn from my experience that the cruel words of one are nothing compared to the shouts of many."
Her video has inspired thousands of reponses and tweets and her story have been picked up by news outlets all over the country.
