Another Big-Name Politician Comes to Wisconsin
Appleton-- US Senator and "Democrat Majority Whip" Dick Durbin campaigned for Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin in Appleton. Democrats hold a six-seat majority in the Senate but more than twenty are up for reelection this November. "One, two, three votes in another direction and the balance shifts and it shifts on a lot of issues, a lot of critically important issues," Durbin said.
He spoke to campaign volunteers at the democratic office in Appleton. Nate Miller was there working the phones, calling on behalf of the Baldwin campaign. He, like Durbin beleives the race for Herb Kohl's senate seat is critical if Congress is going to get back to work. "...to come up with a balanced approach that combines tax and revenue increases along with entitlement reform, we're not going to be able to deal with the budget mess," Miller said.
