Michelle Obama Tickets Go Fast!
Appleton-- Some people waited several hours before tickets were handed out at 4 PM, Tuesday. Supporters say they are very anxious to host the First Lady in the Fox Valley.
The "5 O'clock rush" started early Tuesday afternoon. Volunteers couldn't keep up, bringing sidewalk traffic to a stand-still. It's a "good thing" according to Dottie LeClaire, Outagamie County's Democratic Chair. "This race has heated up so much in Wisconsin, so much in the Fox Valley, so much in Appleton. We are a swing district, in swing state." LeClaire said. So, when 400 people show up in the first hour, at just one location, it's got democrats excited for voter turnout.
Angela Palmer is an Obama supporter and she has her ticket, hoping the First Lady will seal the deal for undecideds. "I'm hoping she has sort of a final message to rally voters," Palmer said.
Kris Gurholt is on the same page. She said, "Everybody that's undecided should be really open about listening to the message from the First Lady."
Appleton Alderman Joe Martin wouldn't mind hearing some "policy talk" from Mrs. Obama, "We're coming through a very tough economical time, hopefully we can see some changes and I think Michelle is going to talk about that." The afternoon rush lasted until the final ticket went out the door.
