 Green Bay-- Road construction in Brown County is cause for concern when it comes to nearby businesses. Highway 29 at Packerland Drive closed this week for improvements. It's Friday at Wallaby's and owner/cook Sam Williquette says, "Our fish plates go over excellent." Even so, "People are having a pretty tough time, navigating around," he adds.  The dinner crowd isn't what it used to be. Dick Snyder and his wife are in for the fish-fry. "You would get frustrated trying to find your way in here," Snyder says. It's his birthday, by the way. He says the food is great and definately worth the drive.

A short walk from the front door and you'll see why it's hard to get here. "Over the course of the summer they've closed Shawano Avenue and turned it into a dead end," Williquette says.  After more closures this week drivers are advised to avoid the intersection all-together.

Williquette is trying to stay visible. He's bought new "neons," on-line adds, and added signs guiding drivers down a permanent detour. "We've lost probably, two-thirds of our traffic coming through here. It's quite a cut, quite a loss." As rush hour passes him by, the restaurant owner hopes people will take the time to stop in.  He's sure, if they do, they'll make a point to remember how they got there.
