Rally Against Paul Ryan
Ashwaubenon-- The group gathered largely because they do not agree with Congressman Ryan's criticism of President Obama during the RNC, over lack of job creation.
As Ryan supporters and the the undecided made their way inside, protesters banged away. Randy Brice is an unemployed iron worker from Racine, Wisconsin. Brice said, "If i had a job I wouldn't be up here talking. That's part of my complaint." He's a union man from Paul Ryan's district and upset over blame the congressman has put on President Obama for car factories in Wisconsin not re-opening. "We want to go to work. We love what we do but policies like Paul Ryan are keeping us from doing it, Brice said.
Monette Reinhard is from Abrams and said, "We want the the 1% to pay their fair share." Her husband, Democrat Joe Reinhard is running for Wisconsin assembly. "They think that trickle-down still works when it has never been proven to work," Reinhard added.
Jason Burns echoed Reinhard, "For someone sitting in the lower-middle class, I'm still waiting for anything to trickle down to me. Protesters were eventually moved away from the ice arena a short distance. A local deputy said it's because the event was private and organizers preferred the protesters move to the grass.
