DE PERE--Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan will be drumming up support in Northeast Wisconsin. He'll greet dozens of supporters Wednesday morning at Cornerstone Community Ice Center in De Pere. The visit is firing up both sides of the aisle.

"I think it's important because he has a chance to meet some of the local people and see the local businesses around here. Maybe talk to people and see where their ideas and thoughts are,” Republican Donna Juneau said.

Ryan's swing into Northeast Wisconsin is key for the swing state. While President Obama won the state in 2008, Ryan's roots could turn things red. That's why democrats in Green Bay hit the phones ahead of his stop.

"Independent, hard working, middle class make up the bulk of the population in Northeast Wisconsin. Understand that President Obama is fighting for them,” Wisconsin Obama for America spokesman Joe Zepecki said.

The doors open at 8:30 Wednesday morning. The event begins at 10:30AM.
