Packers Welcome New Owners to Shareholders Meeting

  • Packers stockholders meet for the teams annual shareholders meeting in Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY, Wis.-- Tens of thousands of Green Bay Packers owners viewed a sports event that's only held in one American city.

The Packers' shareholders' meeting happened Tuesday at the team's home stadium, and about 12,500 fans attended in person.

Another 20,000 watched the proceedings online.

Those in person gave General Manager Ted Thompson a standing ovation, while team President Mark Murphy used Donald Driver's "Dancing with the Stars" trophy to fire up the crowd.

The meeting lasted 90 minutes.  Officials addressed the team's 15-1 regular season, the playoff failure and the successful revenue performance for 2011.

They also mentioned the updates to Lambeau Field including the new video boards for 2012 and seating to be completed in 2013.
