Arrests Made in Arrow Girl Case
CAMPBELLSPORT, Wis.-Fond du Lac County authorities have detained a 16-year-old boy and say he shot an arrow that struck and injured a 7-year-old girl.
The boy and another teen told authorities the teenager was trying to shoot a squirrel.
On May 20, Aryanna Schneeberg was playing with a doll stroller on a sidewalk in the village of Campbellsport when she was struck.
She was initially treated in Fond du Lac and then taken to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa.
Authorities offered a reward for information that was increased earlier this week. The two teenagers eventually told authorities that the teen was shooting at a squirrel. After shooting the arrow, the boys heard a scream, the sheriff's department said.
The teenagers told investigators that they were initially afraid to come forward with information about the incident.
