Concierge Medicine in the Workplace Seminar

  • Print

An Innovative Patient-Centered Healthcare Alternative A free informational healthcare seminar will be offered on concierge medicine in the workplace, a new, rapidly-growing, lower cost/higher quality, employer-sponsored benefit option on October 24, 2012 from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Holiday Inn Express, 3823 Germaine Avenue in Sheboygan. Sponsored by ModernMed, Medical Advocate Program (MAP) and Jon D. Plamann & Associates, Inc., it will give Sheboygan area employers insight into the care model and how it has been adapted to provide employees and dependents around the country with an insanely great patient experience while significantly reducing employer health costs. Concierge medicine has four key advantages over traditional healthcare: Employers are able to reduce their healthcare costs and increase productivity. Patients get 24/7 access to their personal physician’s cell phone and email, along with convenient access to both onsite and nearsite clinics. Primary care physicians get to practice one on one individualized medicine, which has been shown to produce better long term care results. Physicians have as much time as needed to provide a comprehensive scope of services that includes prevention, wellness, chronic disease management, urgent care, and episodic sick care. The three hour seminar will be presented by Dr. Jami Doucette of ModernMed and Dr. Tony Wendler of Medical Advocate Program (MAP).  Topics to be addressed include why patients prefer concierge medicine when given the choice by employers, the advantage of price transparency in healthcare, how patient care outcomes can be improved with wellness programs, and how employers can get significant cost savings with concierge medicine. "What is really wonderful about concierge medicine is that it brings back the traditional personal, one-on-one primary medical experience where physicians and patients work directly to solve medical issue early on with preventive care and wellness. It's a hands-on approach to health as opposed to a hands-free approach," said Dr. Jami Doucette, CEO, ModernMed Inc. Participates will be able ask questions of both presenters during the seminar and immediately after the event.
