DAV FALL CONFERENCE
Disabled American Veterans of Wisconsin will be holding its annual Fall Conference on October
4-6 at Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton. The Conference will consist of committee meetings,
business sessions and informational seminars. Opening Session will be Friday, October 5th and
will feature a presentation by the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of
Veteran Affairs (CHAMPVA) at 8 am.
Tentatively scheduled at 9 am is a candidate forum for the U. S. Senate with Congresswoman
Tammy Baldwin and former Governor Tommy Thompson. At 10:30 am will be a panel
consisting of representatives from the VA Regional Office in Milwaukee, County Veterans
Service Office, Social Security, and the Vet Center in Green Bay.
Informational Seminars on Women Veterans, Legislation, and Job Seeking Skills will be held at
1:00pm. Throughout the Conference, DAV National Service Officers (NSOs) will be present to
answer questions about VA and other benefits. NSOs are highly trained professionals who are
DAV, a non-profit organization with 1.2 million members, was founded in 1920 and chartered
by the U. S. Congress in 1932. DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect
DAV does this:
• By ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available
• By fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill in Washington
and the Capitol in Madison;
• By educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning
back to civilian life.
