Kewaunee County Electronics Recycling Day.
The Kewaunee PR Committee, along with Cyber Green, will be sponsoring: Kewaunee County Electronics Recycling Day. The event will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 8 AM to 12 PM, and will be set up at the Kewaunee High School parking lot, located at the corner of Center Street and Third Street in Kewaunee. This event will take place rain or shine. The purpose of this event is to provide the community with the opportunity to properly dispose of unwanted electronics and appliances, therefore keeping these items out of the landfill. Cyber Green will recycle the majority of the equipment and will properly dispose of the rest. All hard drives will be shredded. This event is free of charge and open to the public, inside and outside of Kewaunee County. The only charges will be for television and computer monitors as these items contain phosphates and lead. Cyber Green will charge $10 if the screens are under 30 inches and $20 if the screens are over 30 inches, which is their cost of disposal. We will be offering curbside service, and volunteers will unload your vehicle for you. Examples of items accepted at this event include all computer equipment, televisions, video equipment, cell phones, wiring and cabling, telephone systems, microwaves, and just for this event, dehumidifiers and household appliances. For a full list of what to bring and what not to bring, please see our website: kewauneeprcommittee.com. If you have a large quantity of items, arrangements can be made by contacting Aaron Chevalier at #920-246-7143. Any questions regarding this event can be directed to Lisa Schmidt at #920-255-3492.
