Belgian Pie Making class
Just in time for the holidays, students can experience “a piece” of local Belgian culture, the Belgian Pie. This November, St. Norbert College Language Services is presenting a Belgian Pie making workshop. The class will run on Saturday, November 10 from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the Brown County Culinary Kitchen at the N.E.W. Curative Building, 2900 Curry Ln. in Green Bay. The cost of the class is $45 per person. In this one-Saturday workshop, Door County native and Belgian Pie expert Gina Wautier will reveal the history behind the pastry. Students will learn how to make several kinds of Belgian Pies in a hands-on setting. Students should come prepared to feast on the pies made during class. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome. The Belgian Pie is an open-faced tart filled with custard or cottage cheese, then topped with layers of prunes or apples. Registrations and payments must be received by November 5. Register by going to www.snc.edu/languageservices or call 920-676-3195 for more information. Class sizes are limited to ensure maximum hands-on participation!
