Doors Open Milwaukee
Historic Milwaukee, Inc. presents Doors Open Milwaukee 2012 on September 22 and 23. This event allows participants to tour over 100 buildings in the Milwaukee area between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday and is completely FREE. Participating buildings are of cultural, historical, architectural, and commercial interest and most will offer either guided or self-guided tours. In addition, several In-Depth tours by expert tour guides will be offered. These special tours will be ticketed and have a limited availability. More information on in-depth tours and a list of participating buildings will be available through the Doors Open Milwaukee website: http://doorsopenmilwaukee.org/. Many of the tour sites are considered kid friendly. A Passport Program will allow children to get involved by visiting specific sites of interest and having their passports stamped. Event guides will be distributed in the September 16th issue of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and will be available at all participating building sites. It is not necessary to check in at the Event Headquarters at Milwaukee City Hall. If you would like tickets to any of the In-Depth tours you will need to pick those up at the Event Headquarters.
