Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Recently, the headline on page one of the Journal-Sentinel sports section read quote, moving Bulaga to left side an option for Packers.
It certainly is an option, but it's one I hope the Packers do "not" choose to exercise.
It's not that Bulaga couldn't play on the left side, with his ability, and, just as important, his gun-ho attitude, he could, but he's a perfect fit at right tackle.
The way the pro game has evolved, that's where you want big and physical, and Bulaga is not only big and physical, he plays that way, and he'll knock people off the line of scrimmage.
When it comes to pass protection, right tackles tend to face more power than the speed so often seen on the left side, and with Bulaga, the Packers can fight that fire with fire.
Bulaga, however, isn't just about the rough stuff, he's also fine technician, which is particularly important in pass pro, and outside of a rough first half at Seattle, he was playing at a Pro Bowl level before getting hurt last season.
Bottom line, why mess with success. if it looks like a right tackle, plays like a right tackle, and could be an all pro at right tackle, it's a right tackle.
