Welcome to the meeting of a very exclusive club. It probably has only one member in the greater Green Bay metropolitan area, me.
I am of the opinion that the Packers can have a successful season without going to, or winning, the Super Bowl.
Oh, I know this franchise is measured by championships and all that, but I don't think you can discount an 11 win regular season, a NFC North crown or making the NFL's version of the 'Elite 8.' All that is very difficult to do, just ask the 24 teams that were sitting at home last Saturday.
Couple the a-fore-mentioned with coming back strong after being robbed of a win, overcoming injury adversity, developing some young defensive talent, and even finding a young running back who could be something special, and the first word that comes to mind sure isn't failure.
You don't get any trophies for it, but I also think there's something, perhaps even a lot to be said for being real good over a long period of time. You're always relevant, you're always part of the conversation, and the Packers are and will be for the forseeable future.
Did this season end with ultimate success, no, but was it successful, yours truly would vote yes.
