Packers Need Win Over Minnesota

  • Print

Sunday's game against the Vikings, rather important on several fronts. Minnesota is just a game behind the Packers, the Bears, a game in front. A win puts some distance between Green Bay and the Vikes and at the very worst, keeps the Packers within striking distance of the Bears.

With just five games left, we're also at the point in the season where if the Packers are going to become the team they planned on being, they gotta start playing like it. Outside of the Houston game, how many times has Green Bay played like a real-deal contender?

Finally, there's the are we men or are we mice factor. The Packers got it handed to them by the Giants, and if they do, in fact, have the right stuff, they're going to come out swinging in a big way on Sunday. The last time they were embarrassed, when they blew an 18 point halftime lead against Indy, the Packers responded with that season-best effort in Houston and a 5 game winning streak.

Topping the Packers to-do list on Sunday, defensively, make Adrian Peterson earn his yards. If he gets 100 plus for the 6th straight game, make it take 25 carries..

And offensively, protect Aaron Rodgers. That may mean running it, keeping extra folks in to block, hitting short passes, and most certainly, better work up front by the offensive line.
