First Look at Sundays Rams Game

  • Print

What's important for the Packers this game?  I've heard talk about it being their third straight on the road, not a big deal. It's not baseball, where they go from city to city. As a matter of fact, in two of these three games, it's leave town at 1:00pm Saturday and be back by dinner time Sunday.

What about the dome factor? Not a big deal either. It was during the Brett Favre era because the noise bothered him, but not Aaron Rodgers. Truth be told, he and his perimeter people love the fast track and ideal throwing conditions that are found indoors.

What is important on Sunday, the quality of the competition. The Rams are no longer a league patsy and their 3 and 3 record includes wins over Arizona and Seattle. As their number 7 ranking would suggest, they're playing good defense.

Offensively, it's a different story. Although talented, Sam Bradford doesn't have anyone special to throw to. His offensive line is a mess with three of the five eminently beatable. They also have the bad habit of blowing assignments and turning people loose on Bradford. At times, it looks like they've forgotten the old football adage, when in doubt don't block out.

Bottom line, the Packer defense should win its match-up while the offense will have to earn whatever it gets, but that was also the case in Houston.
