About SteveSteve joined the NBC26 weather team in January, 2005, and is thrilled to be forecasting weather in Northeast Wisconsin. Steve grew up in Norway, Michigan, about an hour and a half north of Green Bay and has been a weather fanatic his entire life. “I used to keep my family up all night whenever a snowstorm or severe thunderstorm was moving through my hometown.” Steve started his TV career in college, where he anchored weather for two years at his campus TV station. Steve also spent two Summers volunteering as a weather intern at the National Weather Service in Marquette, MI and WLUC, TV 6, also in Marquette. Following graduation, Steve landed a job at NBC 12 in Rhinelander, WI, and forecast weather in the Northwoods of Wisconsin for more than eight years as chief meteorologist. Cameron Moreland was chief meteorologist at NBC 12 when Steve started working there in 1996. Steve lives in Green Bay with his younger brother Jon. When he’s not at work, you can find Steve chasing severe thunderstorms during summer or spending some time on area ski slopes during winter. Steve also enjoys mountain biking and is looking forward to exploring the trails around Northeast Wisconsin. Contact Steve: stbrown@journalbroadcastgroup.com
