A Northeast Wisconsin Family is getting a lot of hometown support as they compete on the hit NBC show "The Biggest Loser: Couples."  Cathy Skell of Shiocton came home from the ranch for 30 days to workout on her own, while her daughter, Kristin Steede of Greenville competed to keep her mom on the show.  While Cathy was home, she took a kickboxing class at Ellipse Fitness in Appleton and found some of her strongest supporters.

Shana Conradt is one of those fans. "Oh my gosh," she said. "It's amazing. It's really cool to watch."

She's not alone. For some folks in our area, Tuesday night has become T-B-L night, aka The Biggest Loser night.

Tons of them tune in to see two of our own battle the buldge.

"Oh you just have to root 'em on," said Ellipse Fitness' Lisa Welko.

"People are really tying together and cheering them on," Conradt added. "Everyone watches it on Tuesday. It's like this special little date, and everyone gets together to see what's going to happen."

What's happening, according to contestant Cathy Skell, is a life transformation.

"I'm off my medications and pushing myself to limits I never thought I could before, and that's so empowering," she said.

Cathy was sent home from the ranch for 30 days, counting on her daughter to earn her the chance to come back.

While she was home here she had to prove she can shed the pounds all on her own.

She came to Ellipse for some kickboxing and brought a video camera from the show to document it all.

"She was sweating like crazy and working so hard," Welko said. "We got some close up shots, so I hope they make it on, but I don't know that they will."

The exposure has inspired a community. And Cathy says she couldn't be happier.

"Next year I'll be 50, and I'll be the healthiest and feel the best I ever have in my whole life."

You can watch all the Biggest Loser drama unfold every Tuesday night on NBC26.
