The Green Bay Packers release six assistant coaches including Defensive Coordinator Bob Sanders.
In a release issued Monday Morning, the team announced Sanders' firing along with Defensive Ends Coach Carl Hairston, Defensive Tackles Coach Robert Nunn, Secondary Coach Kurt Schottenheimer, Defensive Nickel Package/Cornerbacks Coach Lionel Washington and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Rock Gullickson.
The news release quoted Head Coach Mike McCarthy as saying: "These are difficult decisions, I hold each of these men in high regard on a personal level, and I want thank them for their service to the Green Bay Packers."
The only defensive coaches who were retained was assistant head coach / linebackers Winston Moss and quality control assistant Joe Whitt Jr.
