JEFFERSON, Wis. (AP) -- An off duty Town of Oconomowoc police officer and a man, thought to be her boyfriend, were both shot and killed outside a tavern in Jefferson early Sunday.
Officer Jennifer Luick, 37, died shortly after the shooting at Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson. Luick died at Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson and the Jefferson County coroner's office reports the man died Sunday morning at a Milwaukee hospital.
Jefferson police say the shooting happened in the parking lot outside the Rock Bottom Saloon and Eatery on Milwaukee Street shortly after 1 a.m. A 24-year-old man has been taken into custody. The investigation continues.
