The De Pere community will not have to house a sex offender. Geitano Schmidt was scheduled to move into the 300-block of North Broadway, right near a park, the Fox River Trail and the library. But on Tuesday, police said he will not be moving-in. The decision comes after a community meeting where people voiced their concerns. De Pere police did not say where Schmidt will be moved next.
