WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) - A northern Wisconsin district attorney is hosting news conferences Wednesday in Wausau and Hayward in which he is expected to announce a run for Congress.
Ashland County DA Sean Duffy says only that he has a special announcement regarding the 7th Congressional District. The Republican's news conference in Wausau starts at 9 a.m.
Democratic Congressman Dave Obey (OH'-bee), has represented the district since 1969.
The 37-year-old Duffy was appointed Ashland County DA in 2002. He's a professional lumberjack and was a cast member on MTV's "The Real World Boston" in 1997.
Republican Dan Mielke will also run again in 2010. He's a farmer from Randolph who lost to Obey last year.
