A Kaukauna woman who was hit and paralyzed by a drunk driver is filing a defamation lawsuit against John Schmidt of Combined Locks.
Tiffany Pohl was struck while walking on Delanglade Road back in April of 2007.
Days after the accident someone using the name "Sandy Anderson" posted a message on her get well website. "Sandy" claimed to have been driving the same road the night of the accident. She wrote that she had to swerve to miss hitting Tiffany and her friend.  The posting also said both girls were wearing dark clothing and walking on the wrong side of the road.

"It's hard for her to imagine why somebody would post these untrue statements," says Pohl's attorney Carey Reed.

Police did discover the message didn't come from "Sandy" but instead from John Schmidt's computer.
Schmidt allegedly was friends with the man accused of hitting Tiffany.
Her attorney says she isn't suing Schmidt for the money but to find out why Schmidt or someone in his household posted the statement.

NBC26 tried to contact Schmidt for comment he did not return our calls or answer the door.  Reed says Schmidt has not responded to the lawsuit yet but he has 45 days to reply.
